Efficacy and Mechanism of Action:
Sequence acetyl-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-ArgNH2 bioactive peptide, known as acetyl hexapeptide-3, is a botulinum toxin A-like compound, but it lacks the N-terminal domain of protein SNAP-25 and competes to bind to the SNARE complex that regulates its formation, inhibiting the formation of acetylcholine and thus weakening muscle contraction. The acetyl hexapeptide 3 argireline also reduces wrinkle development due to unconscious skin movement. Botulinum toxin A acts as a protease, cutting the protein SNAP-25 from the SNARE complex. This leads to inhibition of acetylcholine release.
